Teach & Learn with WiscNet: Digital Inclusion Part II

Join us on Wednesday, March 19th for Digital Inclusion Part II

(Community-Based Support)

Last summer, we welcomed Cassandra Hill, Ph.D, Digital Inclusion Coordinator from the City of Madison to our Teach & Learn with WiscNet series. During that session, Cass discussed digital inclusion and hinted that there was a part two to her presentation, and we invited her back to hear the rest!

Within the City of Madison, WI, Cass works to remove digital barriers and advance digital inclusion (access, usability, literacy). They strive for digital equity by providing more residents access to City services while ensuring our workforce keeps pace. Focusing on digital inclusion at this intersection improves engagement with City government and enhances comfort, security, and efficiency. Cass’ work centers on collaboration, communication, portfolio management, upskilling, and transformation.

In this second virtual session, Cass will discuss:

  • The intersection between the current state of digital inclusion

  • The groups and resources helping to bridge the digital divide

  • How we can connect others with technology, access, and the digital skills to use them

  • The importance of digital inclusion ecosystem mapping and coalition-building to strengthen digital equity, ensuring access for all.

We are excited for this to be a collaborative space where we can all learn something together, for collaboration is the best way to share knowledge and resources amongst the membership.
