Peering and Caching is the "content" piece of our network. WiscNet peers with companies so that internet traffic does not leave the WiscNet backbone and therefore, traffic doesn't traverse the public network. Peering allows for faster and less expensive service. WiscNet peers include the Federal Department of Energy's ESNET, Internet2, Google, Yahoo, Netflix, Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and other Tier 2 service providers (i.e. TDS, Charter), among others. WiscNet counts over 100 settlement-free peers across our network accounting for over 100 gigabytes of traffic daily. For frequently accessed content, WiscNet hosts caching servers from major commercial partners such as Akamai, Google and Netflix right on our own network.
WiscNet services vary in pricing and features based on your organization's size, mission, and needs. Please contact us and we'll schedule a time to meet and discuss your needs.
