The WiscNet BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) multi-home service is an option for members who have WiscNet Network Access and wish to enable BGP to WiscNet and other providers at the same time.
Multi-homing BGP configurations to two or more providers enables failover and load balancing options for traffic to and from your public IP addresses. It requires the Member to obtain their own public ASN (Autonomous System Number) from ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers), to obtain their own /24 or larger subnet for IPv4 and /48 or larger for IPv6 (available from ARIN, brokers, and WiscNet), and to run BGP on Member owned hardware.
Members looking to receive additional connections to WiscNet managed by WiscNet should also review the Connect+1 service as an option.
WiscNet services vary in pricing and features based on your organization's size, mission, and needs. Please contact us and we'll schedule a time to meet and discuss your needs.
